VOLUNTEER
TENACITY COLLEGE PREP (HIGH SCHOOL) TUTORS
Students who graduate from our Middle School Academy Program (MSA) become part of our Tenacity College Prep Program, where they can continue to receive academic and personal support, as well as get involved in other opportunities. CP provides access to ongoing academic support and educational resources, connections to job, internship, and volunteer opportunities, ongoing tennis opportunities, assistance with the college selection process, social and recreational alumni events, and opportunities to serve as leaders and mentors in their communities.
We need your help to continue to support these students throughout high school!
Volunteer Description:
Tenacity is looking for volunteers interested in tutoring high school students in any subject at flexible times, in locations around Boston. In an effort to continue to offer academic support to our alumni, we are expanding our “Tutor Bank” so that we can continue this support for our students throughout their high school experience.
How the “Tutor Bank” Works:
- You complete a profile form that provides us with helpful information about you, including subjects in which you may be able to tutor, the neighborhoods that are accessible to you, your current availability, and the best way to reach you.
- We keep all of your information on file.
- When one of our students lets us know that he/she needs a tutor, we search our tutor profiles and call you if your “tutor profile” fits with that student’s needs.
- If, at that time, you are available to help, we will connect you with the student, and communicate with you regularly to support your work with the student and monitor progress.
Time Commitment: This is a flexible volunteer opportunity and works at your convenience; hopefully your schedule will accommodate one of our students in need!
Tutors and students are encouraged to meet at places convenient for both parties (e.g. Boston Public Libraries).
